Lyrics

Sometimes it seems I'm living my life
with a fog between me and the truth.
Swirling in dreams, I wallow in strife
while I plaster more years on my youth.,

Through a thick haze I while away days
chasing fingers that point to the moon,
trying to find what I left behind
when I first fell into this deep swoon.

Why should I seek out the searchers who study reflections?
Why do I feel so inclined to find faulty directions?
The light is in me. The light is in me.
No need to look through another's eyes so I can see.
The light is in me. The light is in me.
Now to examine myself, find out how to break free.
I do want to be free.

So I spend my time putting thoughts into rhyme
and then turning them into a song,
hoping someday to share what I say
and help make my friends' roads not so long.

But sometimes it seems I'm living my life
with a fog between me and the truth.
Following dreams, I focus my strife
while I face the fears leaving my youth.

Why should I seek out the searchers who study reflections?
Why do I feel so inclined to find faulty directions?
The light is in me. The light is in me.
No need to look through another's eyes so I can see.
The light is in me. The light is in me.
So I will study myself til I learn to break free.
I do want to be free.
Don't you want to be free?
Everybody ought to be free.
